Volunteer-led communities thrive on enthusiasm — and yet enthusiasm alone can fade. Durable momentum comes from shared ownership, humane pacing, and visible progress. Spread responsibility among more than one or two people, rotate leadership roles, invite fresh voices into planning, and celebrate small wins along the way. Build in breaks, ask for help, and treat seasons of rest as strategic. Sustaining a community is a marathon, not a sprint — and the groups that last are the ones that pace themselves.
