Images & Media
Images in the Family Tree Wiki are stored in shared Group Media Collections and embedded into pages using the image picker.
All images in a group media collection are visible to all members of the group.
Adding an image
- Click where the image should appear
- Select the Image button
- Choose an existing image or upload a new one
- Insert and save
Media embed format (reference)
[[media id="…" w="800" fit="max" caption="true"]]This format ensures images resize correctly and can be reused across pages.
Best practices
- Add captions when context matters
- Reuse images instead of uploading duplicates
- Re-insert images using the picker if something breaks
