Links are what turn individual wiki pages into a connected knowledge system.
The Family Tree Wiki uses a link picker to create reliable, structured links between pages.
Using the link picker
- Place your cursor where the link should go
- Click the Link button
- Select an existing wiki page
- Confirm the link
The editor inserts a structured link automatically.
Link format (reference)
[[link href="/Groups/Wiki/…/beulah-palleson" title="Beulah Palleson"]]Do not hand-edit link tags. If a link looks wrong, remove it and re-insert it using the picker.
Best practices
- Link the first mention of people, places, and events
- Use natural, readable link text
- Avoid raw URLs in wiki content
