Why bad weather can be the best time to shoot.

Rain doesn’t have to cancel your shoot — it can make it. Wet streets reflect light in unexpected ways, colours saturate, and people move differently under umbrellas and hoods.

Protect your gear with a simple rain cover (a plastic bag will do in a pinch), and embrace higher ISOs if the light drops. Look for reflections in puddles, raindrops on windows, and steam rising from street vents.

Rainy days strip away distractions and focus your attention on mood. And the best part? Fewer photographers are out, which means the city feels like it’s yours.
